About The Position

Novacore is seeking a high-performing college student majoring in Insurance Risk, Business Risk, or Business to participate in its 2027 Summer Internship Program. The Underwriting Intern will support the PUA (Professional Liability) program and assist underwriting team members with customer service, submission review, policy processing, and file preparation under underwriting guidance. The paid internship includes mentorship, peer interaction, project work, executive visibility, volunteer opportunities, and networking events. The program runs from May 17 through August 5, 2027. It is hybrid, with three required onsite days at the Oak Brook, Illinois office and two work-from-home days.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Fully assist team members as needed.
Interact with agents by phone and email to provide customer service.
Review submissions for completeness and accuracy, and request information as needed.
Assist with policy issuance, binding, and billing.
Review documentation and prepare files under underwriting guidance.
Follow up on open items and request additional information to finalize tasks.
Attend team meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
