About The Position

The Aetna/CVS Health Virtual Underwriting Externship is a three-week educational program introducing current college students to insurance underwriting, risk analysis, and pricing strategies. Participants take part in interactive virtual training sessions led by industry experts, apply concepts through collaborative case studies, and receive professional development and mentorship. The program offers networking opportunities and a view into the responsibilities of a full-time underwriter and Aetna’s underwriting organization. Participants who complete the program receive a certificate and priority consideration during the following underwriting internship recruiting season. Externs may also apply and interview for the 2028 Summer Corporate Underwriting Internship Program, which is intended to take place at the Hartford, Connecticut office under a hybrid work model.
