Salary range (but not limited to): 47,100 - 57,500 About the role We’re looking for a Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant to join our growing Nordic team for a 12 month temporary/secondment. Your work will have an impact by supporting our teams in the Facility Association. People will count on you to work closely with the Underwriters in order to contribute to achieving our national goals. This position requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Calgary AB office. This role will offer you the chance to grow within Intact and learn the world of Underwriting by:

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Insurance industry experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and relationship building skills
  • Taking initiative, ability to prioritize and work under pressure
  • Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
  • Post secondary/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively pursuing CIP designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Nordic Commercial Lines underwriting teams by processing and amending new business, endorsements, renewals and cancellations within established authority level in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Referring risks to underwriters based on complexity and authority level.
  • Preparing new business files and input into our systems
  • Working closely to develop and maintain positive business partnerships with brokers and co-workers.
  • Building and maintaining a strong cohesive team focusing on collaboration, recognition and development
  • Contributing to team objectives by making suggestion for improvements and efficiencies
  • Assisting in the training and development of junior staff
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned.
