About The Position

The Assistant, Commercial Underwriting is an entry-level processing role within the Processing Center. This role contributes to achieving the Processing Center’s service targets by proactively and consistently working through Commercial Business requests from a service queue. The individual will be accountable for their individual work list by maintaining organized and efficient work habits, and providing exceptional customer service to broker partners and Underwriting teams. This role supports a once-and-done environment and completes tasks within designated timeframes. Within this role, you will begin to understand underwriting processes and familiarize yourself with guidelines and workflow to support the completion of a variety of tasks.

Requirements

  • Completed high school diploma
  • Professional, friendly, and courteous in all interactions, both within the company and our broker partners
  • Able to prioritize and organize day-to-day tasks, working efficiently to complete tasks
  • Perform well in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Courteous and positive interactions with other team members and broker partners in all forms of communication

Nice To Haves

  • Any relevant work experience is an asset, but not necessary
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a post-secondary degree or diploma or willingness to complete a CIP designation
  • Previous experience in working in case management tools, portals or databases will be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to achieving Processing Center’s service targets by proactively and consistently working through Commercial Business requests from a service queue.
  • Maintain organized and efficient work habits to be accountable for individual work lists.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to broker partners and Underwriting teams.
  • Support a once-and-done environment and complete tasks in designated timeframes.
  • Work closely with Underwriters and Technical Processing teams, ensuring work is accurately and fully completed.
  • Contribute to achieving defined Service Level Agreements and Operating Level Agreements.
  • Meet quality and production expectations on a regular basis.
  • Perform data entry into policy systems, including manual coding of off-system policies.
  • Order required reports on policies.
  • Assist with general office and other duties as required.
