About The Position

What it’s like to be a Northbridge Underwriter: Our Underwriters customize solutions for our middle-market commercial clients when they need insurance products to cover construction, property and auto and more. They work closely with our extensive broker network to develop unique solutions for all classes of risk. Through close collaboration with our Risk Services and Claims departments they can get a holistic picture of each risk and make Underwriting decisions that make sense for all parties. They are passionate about maintaining strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders and love utilizing their strong technical skills to ensure that risks are assessed properly. They are experts in their field and passionate about servicing our brokers – this means emails and phone calls don’t go unanswered, and broker meetings are regularly penned into their calendars. This is a 7-month contract position with the Middle-Market Construction & Contractor team. We want your talent!

Requirements

• 2+ years of Underwriting experience with a commercial property & casualty focus
• Strong customer service background
• Experience connecting with clients in a virtual world
• Team-first mentality

Nice To Haves

• Underwriting experience within the construction & contracting sector is an asset
• Completed, or pursuing your CIP designation

• Monitoring trends and developments, identifying areas of concern regarding loss ratio

• The base salary range for this role is $65,000 - $85,000, which reflects the expected base pay – not the total compensation package.
