Turquoise Ridge - Underground Maintenance Dispatcher

Barrick Mining Corporation•Carlin, NV

About The Position

The Underground Maintenance Dispatcher at Turquoise Ridge coordinates real-time maintenance response during each shift. The role owns each equipment break-in from the initial report through close-out in the CMMS and serves as the central point of ownership for in-shift notifications, status tracking, and communication among operations, maintenance, and the planning office. One dispatcher covers each crew (A through D), reports fleet status hourly, and closes the shift with a handover report reconciled and signed by both supervisors. The dispatcher uses the CMMS and fleet-management and condition-monitoring systems to track equipment, work orders, parts, findings, and service progress. The role also supports reliability reviews, follows HS&E requirements, and works a rotating schedule of days and nights. A high school diploma or GED is required; a related technical certificate or diploma and relevant mining, maintenance, operations, dispatch, or scheduling experience are preferred.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven experience with CMMS and fleet or condition-monitoring systems, such as SAP, Pitram, Sandvik RMS, or CAT VIMS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate calmly across multiple stakeholders during active equipment downtime.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Solid understanding and application of MSHA regulations and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certificate or diploma in maintenance, scheduling, or a related field.
  • Some experience in mining, maintenance, operations, or a dispatch/scheduling support role.

Responsibilities

  • Review shift handovers for outstanding break-ins, findings, OEM alerts, damage items, and parts in transit; confirm fleet status against equipment due for service.
  • Own equipment break-ins from the first operator report through CMMS close-out, including raising notifications, coordinating with supervisors and technicians, recording diagnoses, and tracking parts through arrival.
  • Record malfunction start and end times, confirm failure codes, process equipment status changes (TECO) in the CMMS, and issue follow-up notifications for outstanding parts.
  • Triage OEM condition-monitoring alerts such as RMS and VIMS by severity, raise CMMS notifications, route findings for immediate repair or backlog, order parts, and record and escalate equipment damage findings to Reliability.
  • Communicate fleet status hourly, including status, location, and estimated repair time for each down machine.
  • During the final hour of the shift, confirm fuel and lubricant inventory and flag resupply needs; reconcile malfunction times, failure codes, availability, and breakdown reports with technicians, supervisors, the CMMS, and condition-monitoring systems.
  • Prepare and deliver a reconciled shift handover report, signed by outgoing and incoming shift supervisors, covering open items, overnight notifications, findings, cause codes, and bill-of-material discrepancies.
  • Track work orders, backlog, and schedule progress in the CMMS and use CMMS and fleet-management systems such as SAP or Pitram to maintain current fleet and work-order status.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and operations stakeholders, including shift supervisors, technicians, operators, parts coordinators, buyers, OEM contacts, and reliability engineers.
  • Immediately escalate safety-risk findings and critical OEM alerts; escalate services behind schedule, major rebuilds missing milestones, and expedited-parts costs exceeding the approved threshold through the established escalation path.
  • Contribute operator and equipment performance data, such as OEM scorecards, to weekly reliability reviews to help Reliability and Operations identify bad-actor machines.
  • Follow HS&E policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental and workplace wellbeing risks.
  • Participate in assessment and development planning, training, and coaching; maintain understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices.
  • Work a rotating schedule of nights and days.
