  • Technical trade qualification, engineering degree, or an equivalent combination of education or relevant mobile maintenance leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and component repair strategies.

  • Strong working knowledge of underground mine safety requirements and ability to lead safely in an active underground production environment.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional leadership skills, including the ability to balance production requirements with asset integrity and long-term equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Champion safe work practices and compliance with MSHA requirements, site standards, and procedures, including energy isolation, stored energy control, lifting and rigging, and safe execution of underground maintenance work.

  • Lead maintenance planning and scheduling with planners and operations, ensuring work is scoped, resourced, kitted, scheduled, and coordinated with production priorities.
  • Lead weekly maintenance schedule lock-in and daily execution reviews; manage schedule breaks, priorities, backlog, emergent work, and completion commitments.
  • Drive compliance with the asset management process and CMMS work-order standards, including accurate failure coding, labor hours, parts usage, work history, and timely closeout.
  • Improve availability and reliability of the Turquoise Ridge underground fleet, including haul trucks, loaders, development jumbos, bolters, roadheader/mechanical mining equipment, and mobile support equipment.
  • Use equipment performance data and leading indicators to target chronic failures, eliminate repeat breakdowns, improve maintenance quality, and increase planned work relative to reactive work.
  • Coordinate major repairs, component replacements, shutdowns, and OEM or contractor work, emphasizing safety, quality, work readiness, schedule, and return-to-service performance.
  • Partner with Maintenance Engineering, Reliability, Warehousing, and Supply Chain on parts strategy, component life, repair-versus-replace decisions, equipment standards, and sustainable improvements.
  • Manage department labor, contractor, and materials costs; contribute to maintenance budgets, forecasts, equipment replacement planning, and short- and long-range asset management plans.
  • Communicate performance through KPIs, including equipment availability, reliability, preventive maintenance compliance, schedule compliance, backlog, maintenance cost, and repeat failures; take corrective action on adverse trends.
