About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Unarmed Gatehouse Security Officer to support safety and security operations within an upscale country club community. The role combines access control, patrol, surveillance, emergency response, detailed reporting, and customer service. The officer helps prevent criminal activity and maintain a safe, welcoming environment while interacting courteously and professionally with residents, members, employees, guests, and visitors.

The position is full-time, with 32–40 hours and availability needed for first, second, and third shifts. The listed location is Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and the pay rate is $18.00–$19.01 per hour. Assignments may be indoors or outdoors and involve exposure to varied weather conditions. The work can include prolonged standing, walking, sitting, observation, and communication, as well as responding to emergencies and occasional physical disturbances.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D license.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to pass a background screening, drug test, and mental health assessment.

• Ability to remain stationary, walk for extended periods, traverse the property, and move between posts during an eight-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to walk on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain while conducting patrols.
• Ability to react quickly to emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and surroundings, and hearing ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
• Ability to provide physical assistance in medical emergencies, including lifting or carrying individuals, with or without reasonable accommodation; occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior foot and/or vehicle patrols to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in the event of fire, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Control access by verifying guest and vendor credentials and monitoring entrances and exits.
• Warn people of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports about accidents, incidents, and suspicious activity.
• Maintain daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
