About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Armed Gatehouse Security Officer to support safety and security operations within an upscale country club community in Boca Raton, Florida. The role combines access control, patrol, surveillance, emergency response, report writing, and customer service. Officers are expected to maintain a courteous, polished, and professional presence while helping prevent criminal activity and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for residents, members, employees, and guests.

This is a full-time position paying $20.00–$22.00 per hour, with 32–40 hours available. Candidates must be available for first shift (0700–1500), second shift (1500–2300), and third shift (2300–0700). The position requires a valid Florida Class D and G security license and a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass background screening and a drug test.
• Ability to pass a mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to draft written reports.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to remain stationary, sit or stand, walk for extended periods, traverse property, and move between posts during an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to continuously walk on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain during patrols.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Frequent reaching and occasional squatting, kneeling, or stooping to inspect vehicles or property.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
• Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments immediately in response to fires, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, permit authorized entry, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports concerning accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visual deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
