Armed Security- Gatehouse
About The Position
We are seeking a reliable, professional Armed Gatehouse Security Officer to support safety and security operations within an upscale country club community in Boca Raton. The role includes access control, foot or vehicle patrols, protecting people and equipment, surveillance, use of gatehouse technology, detailed reporting, emergency response, and crime prevention, while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor with residents and guests. The officer will work 32–40 hours and must be available for first, second, and third shifts. A valid Florida Class D and G security license is required. Candidates must also hold a valid driver’s license, be at least 21, meet screening and assessment requirements, and be able to complete all required training. Assignments may be indoors or outdoors and involve exposure to varied weather conditions, extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, and responding to emergencies or disturbances. Officers must remain alert and professional throughout an eight-hour shift or as operationally required.
Requirements
- Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background screening and drug test.
- Ability to pass a mental health assessment.
- Reliable transportation.

- Ability to sit or stand in a stationary position, walk for extended periods, traverse property, and move between posts during an eight-hour shift or as operationally required.
- Ability to walk continuously on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain during patrols.
- Ability to react quickly in emergencies, including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
- Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
- Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended periods of observation.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
- Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
- Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
- Experience with Avigilon camera systems.
Responsibilities
- Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols indoors and outdoors, watching for unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
- Sound alarms or contact police or fire departments immediately in the event of fire, medical emergencies, or unauthorized persons.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
- Verify guest and vendor credentials, authorize entry for permitted persons, and monitor entrances and exits.
- Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
- Investigate and prepare detailed reports about accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
- Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
- Act as a visual deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
