About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, professional Unarmed Gatehouse Security Officer to support safety and security operations within an upscale country club community. The role involves access control, foot or vehicle patrols, surveillance, securing people and equipment, using gatehouse technology, completing detailed reports, responding to emergencies, and preventing criminal activity while providing courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and guests. The position includes indoor and outdoor assignments and exposure to varied weather conditions. Candidates must be available for one of three shifts: 0700–1500, 1500–2300, or 2300–0700. Requirements

• Possess a valid Florida Class D license.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass background screening and a drug test.
• Pass a mental health assessment.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Have clear verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and move between posts during an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Be able to walk continuously on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain during patrols.
• Be able to react quickly to emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Have visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Be able to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
• Be able to provide physical assistance in medical emergencies, including lifting or carrying individuals with or without reasonable accommodation, and occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior foot and/or vehicle patrols to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain awareness of the site.
• Sound alarms or immediately contact police or fire departments in the event of a fire, medical emergency, or unauthorized person.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, permit authorized persons to enter, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn people of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Act as a visual deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
