About The Position

The Ultrasonographer will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily in ultrasound. This role requires competence and proficiency in a wide range of examinations including abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, neonatal, superficial structures, and vascular studies. The technologist will utilize specific equipment and systems within the department and may be required to float to other units. The position involves shift work, potential call duties, and adherence to a specific dress code.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • One contract or more experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a full-time sonographer.
  • ARDMS (AB)(OB)(RVT) certification.
  • Active BLS - AHA Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, and Renal) examinations, including normal and pathology.
  • Perform GYN (breast, ovaries, Adnexa, Uterus, Pelvis) examinations, including pathology and normal, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric.
  • Perform OB (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IGUR, Uterus/Adnexa) examinations.
  • Perform procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative ultrasound.
  • Perform Neonatal (congenital anomalies and neonatal head) examinations.
  • Perform Superficial structures (Abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid) examinations.
  • Perform Vascular (Carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex) examinations.
  • Operate Canon i700 equipment.
  • Utilize Meditech EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS.
  • Float to other units/departments as needed.
  • Work a 40-hour shift and be on call when appropriate.
