About The Position

The Ultrasonographer will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily in ultrasound. This role requires competence in a wide range of examinations including abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, neonatal, superficial structures, and vascular studies. The technologist will utilize specific equipment and EMR/PACS systems, and may be required to float to other units or departments. The position involves shift work, including call responsibilities, and requires adherence to a specific dress code.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • ARDMS (AB)(OB)(RVT) certification.
  • Active BLS - AHA Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ultrasound examinations of the Abdomen (Aorta, IVC, Liver/Biliary, Pancreas, Spleen, and Renal), including normal and pathology.
  • Perform GYN ultrasound examinations (breast, ovaries, Adnexa, Uterus, Pelvis), including pathology and normal, post-menopausal, transvaginal, adult and pediatric.
  • Perform OB ultrasound examinations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester, amniocentesis, complications, biophysical profile, gestational age, placental grading, abnormalities, IGUR, Uterus/Adnexa).
  • Perform procedures such as aspirations, biopsies, drainage, and intraoperative ultrasounds.
  • Perform Neonatal ultrasound examinations (congenital anomalies and neonatal head).
  • Perform ultrasound examinations of Superficial structures (Abdominal wall, breast, focal masses, hematoma, scrotum & testes, thyroid).
  • Perform Vascular ultrasound examinations (Carotid duplex, segmental pressure studies, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex).
  • Operate Canon i700 equipment.
  • Utilize Meditech EMR and Fuji Synapse PACS.
  • Float to other units/departments as needed.
  • Participate in shift work and be on call when appropriate.
