About The Position

Mathnasium tutors provide math instruction to students in kindergarten through high school at a Mathnasium Learning Center. Tutors work with students across different grade levels using the proprietary Mathnasium Method and curriculum. All work is performed at the center; tutors do not need to correct homework or develop lesson plans. Training in the Mathnasium method is provided. The role offers flexible, consistent part-time hours and is suitable for college students. A desire to work through the entire school year is required.

Applicants submit an application and resume, attend an in-person interview at the center, and complete a math exam with a passing score. Applicants must also demonstrate math proficiency through a math literacy test, provide work authorization, and pass a background check. Compensation is $21.50–$22.50 per hour. Centers are independently owned and operated by franchisees, who are responsible for employment matters and serve as the employer.

Requirements

• Strong math proficiency through calculus.
• Passion for math and working with students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and be trained.
• High motivation, commitment, patience, and enthusiasm.
• Desire to work through the entire school year.
• Pass a math exam and math literacy test demonstrating math proficiency.
• Provide work authorization and pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Classroom and/or one-on-one mathematics teaching experience.
