About The Position

Hamilton County Schools is seeking a Tutor to provide small-group and/or individual instruction in academic content areas. The Tutor also assists as needed in non-academic areas, including graduation rate, behavior, and attendance. The role supports the district’s goal of helping all students thrive and experience a future without limits.

Requirements

• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the content area or areas to be addressed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide supplemental instruction and support to selected students.
• Attend training in the appropriate model or models implemented in the school.
• Keep accurate records of student work and academic support provided.
• Provide classroom teachers and/or administration with regular progress reports on students.
• Follow established procedures to ensure assigned areas are safe.
• Work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Attend work and arrive on time.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Adhere to the Teacher Code of Ethics as defined by Tennessee law.
• Comply with accounting and financial policies and procedures involving the handling of money and property, as well as other Board policies.
• Use computers and other technology to enter and access information related to essential job functions.
• May operate a motor vehicle to conduct various work activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
