Tutor - Certified - Title I @ Carr Elementary
About The Position
The Tutor - Certified - Title I provides remedial reading and/or math support to students individually and in small groups, as directed. The tutor follows the direction of the classroom teacher and/or Principal and/or Instructional Facilitator and works under the supervision of the classroom teacher and/or Instructional Facilitator. The role requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, full licensure as an Elementary Teacher (00025), and previous tutoring experience. Candidates must also pass a required health exam, criminal records check, and drug test if offered a position. The position is classified as non-exempt. Salary is $35.84 per hour for certified employees without retirement or $30.13 per hour for certified employees with retirement.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Fully licensed as an Elementary Teacher (00025).
- Previous tutoring experience.
- Ability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Ability to work with students individually or in a small group.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
- Ability to develop and compile records and reports.
- Skilled in current assessments and using their data for teaching and learning.
- Understanding of the growth and development of assigned students.
- Strong background in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core.
- Strong technology skills.
- Must pass a required health exam, criminal records check, and drug test if offered a position.
Responsibilities
- Work directly under the supervision of the classroom teacher and/or Instructional Facilitator.
- Work with students individually and in small groups to provide remedial support in reading and/or math, as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
