About The Position

The Tutor provides small-group instruction and participates in co-planning sessions. The role works with other support specialists to collect and/or disseminate student assessment information. The Tutor is expected to diagnose student weaknesses and develop IEP goals. The position also includes instructional and general duties assigned by Curriculum Supervisors and directives of the Superintendent of Schools or their designee, in accordance with Haverhill School Committee policies. The Tutor is directly responsible to the Principal and jointly responsible to the appropriate Curriculum Supervisor.

Requirements

• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
• Knowledge of middle school philosophy, organization, and curriculum.
• Understanding of middle school students and their early adolescent needs.
• Knowledge of recommended middle school instructional practices.
