Turf Technician FT
About The Position
The Turf Technician performs maintenance tasks to care for, maintain, protect, and preserve all areas of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and surrounding out-of-play areas. Tasks include mowing, seeding, sodding, aerating, topdressing, irrigation repair, hand-watering, spraying, fertilizing, bunker maintenance, and related work. Recommendations for improving mowing efficiency and mowing patterns are welcome. Turf Technicians are encouraged to play the golf course on Mondays, when the course is closed, and on other special occasions to experience the playability members experience. The schedule is Monday 6 a.m.–4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 6 a.m.–12 p.m., and every other weekend 6 a.m.–10 a.m. The position is full-time and day shift, located at Augusta Country Club in Augusta, Georgia.
Requirements
- Able to operate equipment safely and understand its intended use.
- Be in good physical condition.
- Willing to work outside in inclement weather.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, care for, protect, and preserve golf course areas, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and out-of-play areas.
- Perform mowing, seeding, sodding, aerating, and topdressing.
- Repair irrigation systems and hand-water course areas.
- Perform spraying and fertilizing tasks.
- Maintain bunkers and perform related turf maintenance work.
- Offer recommendations to improve mowing efficiency and mowing patterns.
- Play the golf course on Mondays and other special occasions to experience its playability.
