About The Position

The Spray Technician applies fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn and landscape treatments to residential and commercial properties. The role supports healthy turf and plant growth and effective weed and pest control while following safety regulations and environmental guidelines. It also involves inspecting properties, operating and maintaining application equipment, keeping treatment records, communicating with customers, and assisting with general lawn care and landscape maintenance when needed. The position involves regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions and requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, along with walking, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. Personal protective equipment must be worn as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
State pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
Ability to work independently and manage daily routes.
Ability to safely handle and apply lawn care chemicals.
Ability to operate and maintain equipment.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills.
Ability to identify common lawn and landscape issues.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to walk, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Previous lawn care, landscaping, turf management, or chemical application experience.
Knowledge of turfgrass, weeds, insects, and plant diseases.

Responsibilities

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, and other lawn care products according to company standards and label instructions.
Inspect lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscape areas for weeds, pests, diseases, and turf health concerns.
Operate spray rigs, spreaders, and other application equipment safely and efficiently.
Calibrate, clean, and maintain spray equipment and vehicles.
Keep accurate records of treatments performed, products used, and customer property information.
Follow federal, state, and local regulations for chemical handling and application.
Communicate treatment recommendations and service details to customers.
Monitor weather conditions and adjust application schedules as needed.
Assist with general lawn care and landscape maintenance duties when required.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
