About The Position
Atkore is hiring an experienced Tube Mill Operator for its Harvey, Illinois location. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role operates, sets up, and adjusts tube mill equipment and tooling, including coating and induction equipment. The operator ensures product quality according to work-order specifications and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace. Within the first three months, the operator is expected to make progress on or complete job-specific training, become familiar with Atkore’s Business System and the role’s importance to daily operations, and gain a basic understanding of the required duties and job expectations. The position is listed for the third shift and pays $29.89 per hour plus a $1.00-per-hour shift differential.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment processing steel.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing.
- Strong time-organization skills and a sense of urgency; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass the post-offer employment process, including a drug screen.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace by following 5S and Standard Work and wearing required PPE.
- Set up the tube mill.
- Adjust and operate all components and areas of the tube mill.
- Ensure product quality according to work-order specifications.
- Complete daily paperwork on time.
- Maintain coating and induction equipment.
- Conduct a daily safety inspection of the work area.
- Fill out the hour-by-hour board.
