About The Position

Atkore is seeking an experienced Tube Mill Operator for its facility in Harvey, Illinois, approximately 30 miles south of downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this position operates, sets up, and adjusts tube mill equipment and tooling. The operator helps maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace, produces work to specifications, completes required paperwork, and maintains related coating and induction equipment. The role includes job-specific training and onboarding to Atkore's Business System during the first three months.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment processing steel.
Experience in industrial manufacturing.
Strong time-organization skills and a sense of urgency; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to pass the post-offer employment process, including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Experience in lean manufacturing or at a business system-based company.

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace by following 5S and Standard Work and wearing required PPE.
Set up the Tube Mill.
Adjust and operate all component areas of the Tube Mill.
Ensure product quality according to the specifications provided with the work order.
Complete daily paperwork on time.
Maintain coating and induction equipment.
Conduct a daily safety inspection of the work area.
Fill out the hour-by-hour board.
Make progress on or complete job-specific training within the first three months.
Learn Atkore's Business System and the importance of the role to daily operations, and gain a basic understanding of duties and expectations within the first three months.
