About The Position

Avalign is seeking a CNC Mill Machinist for its Avalign Integrated Medical Solutions team in Mentor, Ohio. The role operates conventional, special-purpose, and CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate parts according to customer specifications. The position is scheduled for the 3rd shift. The machinist independently operates assigned CNC machines, carries out daily preventative maintenance, performs tooling offsets, and trains on tool changes, machine settings, changeovers, and size changes. The role also involves inspecting machined parts with handheld measuring equipment and maintaining accurate production, inspection, and maintenance records while following established procedures for product identification and traceability.

Requirements

High school diploma.
One year of relevant experience operating a CNC machine.
Understanding of the 3 Pan System.
Ability to log in to and use Epicor.
Full understanding of the machine matrix.
Understanding and use of setup sheets.
Understanding of the line clearance process.
Basic blueprint-reading ability.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner who is ready to build knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Independently perform daily machine preventative maintenance activities.
Accurately document completed tasks on appropriate records, including First Piece Inspection logs, work orders, and maintenance logs.
Check documentation for completed-operation sign-offs and verify part counts before beginning manufacturing operations.
Follow established protocols to maintain product and documentation identification and traceability.
Independently operate assigned CNC machines.
Train on tool changes, settings, changeovers, and size changes.
Use handheld measuring equipment, such as calipers and micrometers, to inspect machined parts.
Perform offsets on machine tooling.
