About The Position

Thatcher Company of New York is seeking a qualified Truck Loader Operator for its Williamson, NY facility. The role supports chemical manufacturing and logistics by safely loading and unloading containers, operating plant equipment and processes, moving trailers around the plant, and using pumps, loading equipment, and a forklift. The position is on a Monday–Friday swing shift and pays $23–$27 per hour. The successful candidate will need to work safely, follow detailed instructions, operate independently and as part of a team, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds in extreme temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn.

Requirements

• Desire and demonstrated ability to work safely and promote safe work practices.
• Be quality conscious.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well for safety and operations.
• Aptitude to follow written and verbal instructions in detail and learn additional skills with experience.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment, including chemical-resistant gloves and boots, safety glasses, hard hat, face shield, full-face respirator if required, and chemical splash suit.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating commercial yard trucks.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, including use of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload tanks, rail cars, tanker trailers, and other containers.
• Operate commercial yard trucks to move trailers around the plant.
• Understand and operate plant equipment and processes.
• Operate pumps and loading equipment.
• Operate a forklift.
