Requirements

Hold an Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or obtain the endorsement and cleared background check within 120 calendar days of hire.
Have at least 30 months of full-time Class A tractor-trailer driving experience within the previous three years, or successfully complete the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program.
Have no more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable collision while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable DOT-recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten years.
Have no preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in personal or commercial driving history.
Live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or establish a permanent residence within that distance within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Maintain a permanent residence within 250 miles of the assigned facility as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Plan daily work, set priorities, and coordinate with the team to keep freight moving safely and on time.
Communicate clearly, resolve problems, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan.
Complete required paperwork and electronic logs accurately.
Follow Department of Transportation, state, and company guidelines.
Safely operate a tractor-trailer and inspect it before, during, and after each trip.
Follow traffic laws, local restrictions, and optimized routes to reduce delays and support on-time delivery.
Maintain Walmart’s standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism.
