About The Position

Walmart is hiring a regional over-the-road truck driver based at its Wellford, South Carolina facility. Drivers plan their day, prioritize work, and coordinate with their team to move freight safely and on time. They adapt to changing road and plan conditions, communicate clearly, solve problems, and uphold Walmart’s standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism. The role involves safely operating and inspecting a tractor-trailer before, during, and after each trip; following optimized routes, traffic laws, and local restrictions; and accurately completing required paperwork and electronic logs in accordance with DOT, state, and company guidelines. Freight deliveries are no-touch. Drivers have weekly home time with consecutive days off each week. Pay is based on a fixed rate per mile, with additional activity pay for certain duties. The listed regional mileage rate is $0.55–$0.69 per mile, and the average annual mileage range is 62,355–196,040; actual pay may vary by location and miles driven. Drivers may also receive an Average Daily Pay rate of $240 in specified circumstances.

Requirements

Hold an Interstate Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or obtain the endorsement and clear the background check within 120 calendar days of hire.
Have at least 30 months of full-time Class A tractor-trailer driving experience within the previous three years, or successfully complete the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program.
Have no more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
Have no serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
Have no preventable collision while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
Have no preventable DOT-recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past ten years.
Have no preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history.
Live within 250 miles of the assigned facility, or establish a permanent residence within that distance within 90 days of hire or transfer; maintaining a qualifying permanent residence is a condition of employment.
