About The Position

Walmart is hiring a regional over-the-road truck driver based at its Douglas, Georgia facility. Regional drivers can earn up to $110,000 in their first year, receive weekly home time, and have consecutive days off each week. Drivers are paid a fixed rate for each mile driven, with additional activity pay for certain work; the stated regional mileage rate is $0.55–$0.69 per mile. Actual pay may vary by location and miles driven. Drivers may also receive Average Daily Pay of $240 in certain circumstances. The role involves safely operating a tractor-trailer, managing routes and priorities, communicating with the team, and completing required paperwork and electronic logs. Drivers inspect the vehicle before, during, and after trips, follow traffic laws and applicable restrictions, and comply with DOT, state, and company requirements. Freight deliveries are no-touch. Requirements

Hold an Interstate (Class A) Commercial Driver's License with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or obtain the endorsement and clear the background check within 120 calendar days of hire.
Have at least 30 months of full-time Class A tractor-trailer driving experience within the previous three years, or successfully complete the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program.
Have no more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable collisions while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable DOT-recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten years.
Have no preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in personal or commercial driving history.
Live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or establish a permanent residence within that distance within 90 days of hire or transfer, and maintain that residence as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Plan each day, set priorities, and work with the team to keep freight moving safely and on time.
Communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan.
Accurately complete required paperwork and electronic logs, and follow DOT, state, and company guidelines.
Safely operate a tractor-trailer and inspect it before, during, and after each trip.
Follow optimized routes, traffic laws, and local restrictions to reduce delays and support on-time delivery.
Uphold Walmart's standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism.
