About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B heavy-touch CDL truck driver in Sharonville, Ohio. The driver delivers medical supplies on local routes in surrounding areas and returns home daily. The position uses a straight truck and requires handling freight, including loading and unloading or assisting with those tasks when required by the customer. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Pay is $26.00 per hour, with weekly pay and approximately 50 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatch starting between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM. A TWIC card is preferred but not required; Ryder will reimburse the cost. Uniforms and a boot allowance are provided. Ryder describes its drivers as having autonomy to make safety decisions, with support behind the scenes.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

• Customer or patient experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
