About The Position

Ryder is hiring a local Class A CDL truck driver in Clarksville, Tennessee. The position delivers auto parts solo to Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Mississippi, with local routes and daily home time. The freight is no-touch, and drivers operate a day-cab tractor with a 53-foot dry van. Strong backing skills are required. Drivers must be available to work either a Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday schedule and be open to an AM or PM start time assigned through a bid system. Drivers earn $1,280 or more per week and are paid weekly. Incentives include a sign-on bonus of $1,000 at 30 days and another $1,000 at 90 days, a $2,000 shutdown bonus within the first year, and a quarterly safety bonus of $250 if applicable. Trucks are 36 months old or newer, and drivers have access to 24/7 roadside maintenance and more than 800 nationwide maintenance facilities. The company provides paid scale bypass, uniforms, and a boot allowance. The role requires a valid Class A CDL and qualifying verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience. Applicants must pass the required drug test, background and motor vehicle checks, DOT physical, and road test. Drivers are responsible for regulatory compliance, safety hazard prevention, accurate records and logs, and freight loading or unloading assistance if required by the customer.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Have strong backing skills.
Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks and a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
