About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Dayton, Ohio. The role delivers auto parts on local routes through Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, with drivers home daily. Freight is no-touch, using a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van. Strong backing skills are required. Drivers work Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with an AM or PM start time determined by a bid system. Drivers earn at least $1,355 weekly, are paid weekly, and may receive a $2,000 first-year shutdown bonus and a safety bonus of up to $250 per quarter, if applicable. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history with previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have strong backing skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
