About The Position

This role involves maintaining and operating a truck safely and lawfully, while also handling the careful packing, loading, and unloading of materials. The position requires knowledge of warehouse inventory and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Truck Driver/ Warehouse Associate will report directly to the Donations and Warehouse Managers.

Requirements

Current Driver license with 0 points and current DOT card, to be cleared by Insurance company.
Ability to drive a 24’ stake body and or 24’ – 26’ box truck (Non CDL).
Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
Organizational skills to efficiently pack used building materials onto truck.
Must be energetic, organized, and self-motivated.
Knowledge of building materials.
Must be reliable, dependable, and responsible.
Able to communicate with a variety of people.
Must be responsible and follow through with assigned tasks.
Ability to read maps and route self daily.
Must pass annual & random drug tests, including pre-employment.

Responsibilities

Maintain and operate the truck in a safe, careful and lawful manner.
Carefully, safely, and neatly pack/load and unload materials on/off the TLD truck.
Read maps and route yourself each day.
Maintain knowledge of inventory on hand and the location of inventory in the warehouse.
Work in the warehouse as assigned.
Carry out directions with minimal supervision.
Load and unload the truck in a safe and careful manner.
Secure inventory and equipment against damage, deterioration, and theft.
Ensure all inventory is placed in the holding area or received by TLD staff, and maintain proper inventory records.
Keep the truck clean and presentable.
Supervise the Truck Assistant.
Map routes daily and confirm pick-up times with donors for the next day.
Gather and maintain equipment needed for pick-ups.
Track miles daily in the logbook.
Have knowledge of acceptable and non-acceptable materials policy.
Organize regular maintenance of the truck.
Communicate effectively and courteously with donors and staff.
Participate in establishing cost-effective donor pick-up routes.
Provide warehouse assistance on daily projects, including inventory.
Assist in special projects as needed.
