About The Position
HCSC Linen Services is an innovative provider of textile programs and services to the healthcare community. The CDL Class A Driver supports the laundry at the Allentown, Pennsylvania facility by providing courteous, professional linen and garment delivery to healthcare partners. The work directly supports patient health and safety by helping facilities receive high-quality linen services. The driver operates tractor-trailer and straight truck delivery vehicles, delivers clean linen to local hospitals and healthcare facilities, and picks up soiled linens. The role also involves loading and unloading laundry carts, conducting vehicle and shipment checks, reporting mechanical issues, keeping the vehicle clean and stocked, and jockeying as needed. The hourly rate is $34.73. The position requires weekend work and a flexible schedule with varying hours. Background checks and drug screenings are required, and employment offers are contingent on successfully completing them.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2 years of previous driving experience.
- CDL Class A license.
- DOT Medical card.
- Experience driving tractor-trailer and straight truck delivery vehicles.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work weekends and a flexible schedule with varying hours.
- Successful completion of required background checks and drug screenings.
Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer and straight truck delivery vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload laundry carts on and off the vehicle.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and shipment verifications, and report mechanical issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
- Deliver clean linen to local hospitals and healthcare facilities and pick up soiled linens.
- Jockey before and after each run as needed.
