About The Position

Tobin Scientific is seeking highly trained and reliable tractor-trailer drivers to transport specialized materials for the life sciences industry. Drivers are responsible for delivering sensitive materials safely and on time while following regulatory requirements and company guidelines. The role is based at the company’s global headquarters in Beverly, Massachusetts, and calls for professionalism and a strong commitment to safety. Materials may include laboratory equipment, pharmaceuticals, and biological specimens. The position involves physically handling products weighing 20 to 80+ pounds repetitively during each shift, and driving and working in inclement weather with frequent stops. The expected base rate is $28 to $35, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, function, location, and other applicable factors. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered. For over-the-road jobs, the company pays for hotels. Candidates may be required to complete a background check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently operate tractor-trailers while transporting life-science cargo.
Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling of materials.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and complete the required documentation.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation.
Follow federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies.
Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members about delivery schedules and potential issues.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
