About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B heavy-touch CDL truck driver in New Brighton, Minnesota. The driver transports medical supplies in a straight truck on routes in surrounding areas and returns home daily. The position pays $26.50 per hour, averages 45 hours per week, and pays weekly. The schedule is Monday through Friday with an early-morning start. Patient/customer experience and heavy-touch freight work are required. Equipment includes a pallet jack and stair walkers. A TWIC card is preferred but not required; Ryder will reimburse the cost. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have patient/customer experience.
• Meet the heavy-touch freight requirement.

Nice To Haves

• A TWIC card is preferred, but not required; Ryder will reimburse it.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading freight if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
