About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class B heavy-touch CDL truck driver in Sharonville, Ohio. The position serves surrounding areas and offers home-daily routes in a straight truck carrying medical supplies. Freight handling is heavy touch. Drivers use a pallet jack and stair walker. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 4:00 AM and 7:00 AM, and approximately 50 hours per week. Pay is $26.00 per hour, paid weekly.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are responsible for making safety decisions on the road and receive support throughout their careers. A TWIC card is preferred, and Ryder will reimburse it.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the past 5 years, or 5 years within the past 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional screening, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
