About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. This local, solo-driving role delivers steel freight to Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, with daily home time and no weekend work. Drivers use a day cab or straight truck and a 28-foot straight truck or 45- to 48-foot flatbed; freight requires load securement only.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatch between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Drivers work 50 or more hours per week. Pay is weekly, with an advertised average of $1,673 per week. Compensation includes mileage pay of up to $0.95 per mile for 1,000–1,400 miles per week and $30 per stop for 14–30 stops per week. Paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
