About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A truck driver in Winchester, Virginia, to deliver freight solo on regional routes to Long Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The position pays $27.33 per hour for approximately 55 hours per week, with weekly pay of $1,650 or more. Drivers receive $30 per night in per diem for one to three nights per week, and overnight stays are in Ryder-booked hotels. A loyalty bonus of $1,500 is paid at six months and another $1,500 at one year. Paid training is provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends, and start times between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Drivers operate a day cab with a 53-foot dry van and deliver mattresses, which requires hand unloading. The work may involve using furniture dollies and a hand truck. Ryder provides training on required equipment and operates well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities
