About The Position

Ryder is hiring a part-time Class A CDL truck driver in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. The role involves solo, local shuttle deliveries within a 50-mile radius, with drivers home daily. The truck is a day cab with a 53-foot dry van, hauling no-touch truck-parts freight. The listed start time is 3:00 PM. Drivers use well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Pay is listed as a $230 daily average and $29.68 per hour, paid weekly. A safety bonus of $250–$280 per quarter may apply. Ryder also offers uniforms and a boot allowance, access to a 401(k) rollover and company match after one year, employee discounts, and driver referral bonuses of up to $1,500 for each hired driver. Drivers are expected to operate safely, comply with safety and DOT regulations, complete ongoing training, and provide customer service.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, including employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a commercial vehicle while complying with safety and DOT regulations.
Complete continuous training and provide customer service.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading, if required by the customer.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
