About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Toledo, Ohio. This local driving position delivers auto parts within a 200-mile radius and provides daily home time. Drivers operate solo using an automatic day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van. Freight is no-touch. Ryder provides paid training on the equipment needed for the role and operates well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers earn $28.33 per hour, with weekly pay and 40 or more hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with no weekends; dispatch is between 4:00 a.m. and noon. A quarterly safety bonus pays $250 four times a year. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
- Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
- Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
- Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
