About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo regional truck driver in Hickman, Kentucky. Drivers deliver building mesh to Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, and Iowa. The route uses a sleeper tractor and flatbed trailer, with load securement only. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday, with weekends off. Drivers are paid weekly, with average earnings of $1,626 or more per week and top earners averaging $1,850 or more. Pay includes $0.69 per solo mile, $28.75 per solo stop, and $40 per night in per diem. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and access to fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The role offers autonomy to make safety decisions, with support from Ryder. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Deliver building mesh as a solo driver on regional routes to TN, KY, AR, IN, OH, MI, KS, and IA.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
