About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Front Royal, Virginia. The position pays weekly, averaging $1,595 or more per week, and offers a sign-on bonus of $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days, plus paid training. The schedule is Sunday through Friday with no weekends, and the start time is between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Drivers deliver solo on regional routes to Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Delaware, North Carolina, and New Jersey. The truck type is a sleeper tractor, and the trailer types are dry van and reefer. Freight is food and no-touch. The role can accommodate an auto restriction; a Hazmat endorsement is preferred. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers make safety decisions on the road and are supported by the company. The role also includes a referral program offering unlimited bonuses of up to $1,500 for each hired driver.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
