About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver for a local shuttle route based in Liverpool, New York. The driver makes solo deliveries to Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and returns home daily. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with a start time between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The route uses a day cab and a 45- to 60-foot flatbed trailer, transporting steel and metal freight; load securement is required. Drivers average $2,000 per week and are paid weekly. Compensation includes $0.5565 per solo mile, averaging 2,700 miles per week, and $21.19 per solo stop, averaging five stops per week. Paid training is provided.

Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
