About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. This local shuttle role delivers solo to Hauppauge, New York, and York, Pennsylvania, with daily home time. Drivers operate a day-cab tractor with 45-foot or 48-foot flatbed trailers, hauling steel freight and performing load securement only. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with a 9:00 p.m. start time. Pay is weekly, with daily trip pay of $270–$340 per trip and advertised earnings of $1,630 or more per week. Paid training is provided. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 maintenance locations nationwide. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and comply with applicable laws and regulations. The role also includes maintaining records and logs and loading or unloading freight, or assisting with those tasks if required by the customer. The position offers medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, PTO accruing from the first day, uniforms, cell phone and boot allowances, a 401(k) rollover option and company match after one year, paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria, and employee discounts. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional employment or education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver freight solo to Hauppauge, NY, and York, PA, on local shuttle routes.
Secure steel freight on flatbed trailers.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
