Truck Driver CDL A Local Shuttle
About The Position
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a local shuttle route from Portersville to Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. This solo driving position is home daily and involves no-touch freight described as resin patio furniture. Drivers operate a day-cab tractor with 53-foot dry van and bulk tanker trailers. Ryder provides training on the equipment needed for the position and operates well-maintained trucks, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The position offers a $1,400 weekly guarantee, weekly pay, and paid training. The operation runs seven days a week, with AM and PM shift start times available. Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test.
- Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
- Pass a DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
- Have verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
- Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Responsibilities
- Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
