About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Liverpool, New York, for a local shuttle route delivering solo to Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and back. The route is home daily and uses a day cab and a 45'–60' flatbed trailer. Freight is steel and metal, with load securement only. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with a 7:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. start time. Drivers average $2,000 per week and are paid weekly. Pay includes $0.5565 per solo mile, averaging 2,700 miles per week, and $21.19 per solo stop, averaging five stops per week. Paid training is provided.

Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Ryder describes its driving roles as offering autonomy on the road and support throughout a driver's career, including support during the transition from owner-operator work to company driving. Drivers make safety decisions, and their jobs are protected when doing so.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: nine months within the past three years, or two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
