About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo regional truck driver in Novi, Michigan. The role delivers lightweight clothing to Michigan and Iowa on a consistent regional lane, with a 7:00 PM dispatch window and a rotating schedule. Drivers operate 2023 International sleeper tractors pulling 53-foot dry van trailers. Freight is touch freight. The position offers pay by the mile and per stop, per diem for each night out, paid training, and a sign-on bonus. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, a motor vehicle records check and road test, and/or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
