About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo regional truck driver based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The driver delivers hardware products to Virginia, Maryland, and Georgia. The position pays weekly, with solo mileage pay of $0.71 per mile based on 1,750 miles per week and stop pay of $22.55 per stop based on 25 stops per week; the posting advertises $1,805 or more per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatch starting between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM, and includes two nights out per week. Paid training is provided. Drivers operate a day cab or sleeper tractor and haul freight in dry van trailers of 42, 45, 48, or 53 feet. Freight handling is touch freight, and loading or unloading may be required. Drivers use manual and electric pallet jacks; Ryder provides training on necessary equipment. A hazmat endorsement is required within 90 days of hire, with cost reimbursement and training support. Ryder states its trucks are well-maintained and safe, 36 months old or newer, and supported by 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Obtain a hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities
