About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver for a temporary regional driving position based in Saginaw, Texas, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The driver delivers solo to South Fort Worth and is home daily, with a slight chance of overnight routes to Amarillo, Texas, or Scott, Louisiana. The tractor is a day cab and the trailer is a 53-foot flatbed. Freight involves steel and requires touch load securement, chaining, and unchaining; tarping is not required. The driver must be flexible to cover shifts. Schedules are Sunday through Thursday or Monday through Friday, with AM and PM start times.

Pay is guaranteed at $2,000 weekly, paid weekly. The position also offers a monthly safety bonus of $450 and paid training. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations, uniforms, and cell phone and boot allowances. Drivers make safety decisions on the road and receive support from the company. Employee discounts are available on tools, vehicles, travel, technology, and more. A referral program offers unlimited bonuses of up to $1,500 for each hired driver.

Applicants must have a Class A CDL and meet the stated experience requirements, including at least nine months of flatbed experience. Candidates must pass Ryder’s drug test, background and motor vehicle checks, DOT physical, and road test, and provide appropriate CDL credentials and endorsements.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide an appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position; the role requires a Class A CDL.
• Have verifiable Class A tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these thresholds: nine months within the past three years, two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• Have at least nine months of flatbed experience.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Be flexible to cover shifts.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
