About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Regional Truck Driver in Hurst, Texas. Drivers average $1,600–$1,800 weekly and are paid weekly through mileage-based pay plus stop pay. The position involves 52 or more hours per week, with layover pay and overnight stays at Ryder-booked hotels. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Sunday dispatch as needed, and primarily morning dispatch times. Routes combine home-daily and regional driving, and layovers may be required. Freight is no-touch, with drop-and-hook operations using 53-foot dry vans. Drivers operate sleeper and day-cab tractors. Ryder trucks are well-maintained and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading freight if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
