About The Position

CHS is hiring a Truck and Trailer Mechanic to perform preventative and light maintenance on semis and trailers in Hill City, Kansas. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; hours may vary based on business needs, and Saturday work may be needed when demand is high. The role is eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, with $1,500 paid after 30 days and another $1,500 after one year in the role.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in truck maintenance.
Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
Vocational or technical school training in production maintenance or mechanics.
Significant experience in industrial maintenance.
Broad knowledge of equipment and machinery operations, controls, and functions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain vehicles, machinery, and equipment in the assigned area to minimize unscheduled downtime and improve availability and reliability.
Schedule and perform preventive maintenance to support operating departments with safe, reliable vehicles and equipment that comply with regulatory requirements and meet industry-standard costs.
Assist more junior team members.
Complete required record keeping and documentation.
Maintain efficient maintenance procedures and monitor a complete, reasonable spare-parts and equipment inventory.
Maintain tools and keep work areas clean and neat.
Follow CHS policies and procedures and participate in company training for service and repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
Promote a strong safety culture, follow safety policies and regulations, identify workplace hazards, and communicate and address unsafe actions or conditions.
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
