About The Position

Joshua Tree Experts is hiring an experienced Tree Climber to work with a 2- to 4-person tree crew in Houston. The role assists with tree removal, pruning, and preservation techniques, and is important to the safe and professional operation of the crew. The Tree Climber maintains assigned equipment, communicates with coworkers and clients near the job site, and supports effective, safe work in accordance with ANSI standards for Tree Care Operations. The position requires availability for at least 40 hours per week and is described as full-time, year-round employment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 4 years of tree-climbing experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.

Nice To Haves

• Forestry or Horticulture degree.
• ISA Certified Arborist.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tree removal, tree pruning, and general tree preservation techniques.
• Communicate effectively with the crew leader and coworkers.
• Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer service.
• Delegate work to the Groundman Operations Specialist.
• Maintain the vehicle and assigned equipment.
• Follow the company safety culture and ensure safe tree operations.
• Understand and follow ANSI standards for Tree Care Operations.
• Communicate with clients and the public near the job site.
• Understand aerial lift operations.
